The Government of Australia is partnering with universities to offer the following opportunities to students of the Asia-Pacific region.  Please follow the links for further information on eligibility requirements and application procedures.

Program Name Details
Australia-APEC Women in Research Fellowship The Australia-APEC Women in Research Fellowship provides financial support for high-achieving female researchers from developing APEC economies to pursue research opportunities in partnership with Australian education and research institutions. Up to 10 fellowships are awarded each year for five (5) years (2015-2019). Researchers are hosted by Australian education and research institutions for up to four (4) months. The Australian APEC Study Centre at RMIT University administers the fellowship, supported by the Australian Government Department of Education and Training. Macquarie University International APEC Scholarship Macquarie University offers scholarships of up to $10,000 AUD for the first year of study at its North Ryde campus. This opportunity is open to citizens from all APEC economies. Candidates must be accepted at an undergraduate or graduate program lasting longer than one session (not study abroad or exchange programs), and are expected to study a full-time load.
Australia Awards Scholarships and Fellowships

Australia's Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade administers scholarships to contribute to the long term development needs of Australia's partner countries in line with bilateral and regional agreements.  These scholarships are available to the following APEC economies: Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, the Philippines, and Vietnam.

Australia Awards Fellowships offer Australian organisations the opportunity to hold short term study and professional development events (from two weeks to a year) to deepen their links with leaders from developing countries.  These fellowships are available to the following APEC economies: Chile, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Papua New Guinea, Peru, the Philippines, and Vietnam.

Australia will offer approximately 5,000 of these scholarships and fellowships in 2015.

New Colombo Plan The New Colombo Plan is a signature initiative of the Australian Government which aims to lift Australians' knowledge of the Indo-Pacific region by supporting Australian undergraduates to study and undertake internships in the Indo-Pacific.  The New Colombo Plan includes scholarships for study, internship, or mentorship for up to one (1) year as well as a flexible mobility grants program for both short- and long-term study, internships, mentorships, practicums, and research.  Australian students are eligible to study in the following APEC economies: Brunei, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Korea, Papua New Guinea, the Philippines, Singapore, Chinese Taipei, Thailand, and Vietnam.
Endeavour Scholarships and Fellowships Endeavour Scholarships and Fellowships are merit-based awards that support students from other countries in their efforts to undertake study, research, and/or professional development programs in Australia and for Australians to undertake these programs overseas.  Australia will award approximately 500 of these scholarships/fellowships in 2015 and they are available to students from all APEC economies.
Australian Postgraduate Awards Australian Postgraduate Awards scholarships are awarded to students undertaking a higher degree with research in Australia.  These scholarships are available to all APEC economies except New Zealand and are designed to assist with students' general living costs.
International Postgraduate Research Scholarships International Postgraduate Research Scholarships enable international students to conduct postgraduate research in Australia and gain experience with leading Australian researchers.  The scholarships cover tuition fees and health costs for the scholarship holders and their dependents.  These scholarships are available to students from all APEC economies except New Zealand.
Student Mobility Grants The Australian Government provides funding for numerous international study experiences for Australian higher education and vocational education.  This funding supports inbound international students to study in Australia as well as Australia students seeking to immerse themselves in other cultures, both in Asia and globally.
JASON Postgraduate Scholarship Database The Joint Academic Scholarship On-Line Network (JASON) assists students wishing to pursue postgraduate studies (either within Australia or internationally) gain access to current information regarding scholarship opportunities.  These scholarships include those administered by universities, charitable foundations, governments, and private institutions.
